Zhang Ziyi is a Chinese actress and has starred in some other popular Chinese films, namely Hero, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, and the somewhat controversial Memoirs of a Geisha (it caused some controversy because she was a Chinese actress playing the role of a Geisha in a Japanese film). Zhang has an older brother, and when she was eleven years old, she joined the Beijing Dance Academy. Then at eighteen she entered the Central Academy of Drama, which is a famous dance academy in China.
Career wise, her first film was The Road Home, directed by the popular Zhang Yimou, and she also worked as the face of some of brands in beauty, such as Garnier and Maybelline.
As the heroine of the story, Zhang Ziyi portrays Mei, a blind dancer who catches the eye of Leo, a police captain, who detains her on suspicion of being a spy for the infamous rebel group the Flying Daggers. But then she encounters Jin, who is actually another police caption but is pretending to be a lone warrior, Wind, to try and gain her trust then information about the rebel group. Things start to get chaotic when false feelings become real, and Leo also has a confession to make…
